Passion by Lana RKHD

She’s in her seventies and still longs
for romantic evenings
morphed into satisfied morns

Crumpled sheets
warm loving arms
contented sighs

Frail bodies
strong sexual drives

Passion doesn’t ebb with the passing of time
it tames and settles
but is ever present deep inside

Passion changes through the years
it becomes less selfish
more refined
solid
unified
it’s like a lifeline
seeping through your veins
always consistent
cresting for release
ready to sprint and be evoked

So treat it gently
in your twilight years
it’s not overpowering
it’s not a tidal wave
just a fragile thread of life
