I’m sad for what we could’ve been,
I’m sad for what we could’ve had,
I’m sad for the world we could’ve made,
And isn’t it scary,
How I know my way round your body,
I know your pains, your truths, your lies,
I know about all your pastel skies,
Yet I know about your goodbyes.
Now we pass in the streets,
Acting like our lives never crossed,
As if there’s no love lost.
It’s so crazy that I watched you break up,
And I was there to clean it up,
Now we make passing looks,
Because both our hearts are stuck,
In a place they can’t be.
When we’re sat on the carpet,
Deep down we both know it,
It was almost perfect,
But not quite.
