Saturation by Amanda Fleming

With the saturation on high

blurred faces in the sunlight

overexposed selves

bodies in the afterglow of

shouting

screaming

I can\t hear you

this place is fragile

and caving in on us

little kingdom

full of life and light

saturated land

full of blood

drumbeat heartbeat

pounding

like fucking

open hearts

just holding hands

stay together

with

me

I

you love it

or

at least

you think you do

and I love it too

I assume

this place

that made us

holds us

keeps us enchanted with magic

and music

and destruction

and isolation

wow

small world

“us”

huge world

“seismic”

vast world

“co-loss-al”

lost all of the noise

and the sound

and the fury

that made us

then

now

just

alone

at last

I miss it.
