Watch Me Now by Mahvash Irshad | International Women’s Day Celebration

You stole the rainbow

from my sky,

trimmed my wings

and chained my legs.

You painted long nights

in my eyes that were

full of sunlight

and bright grins.

You clapped on hearing

cracks in my bones.

You tore my skin

and let me bleed.

Now watch me

as I show you

how lone warriors

shake this earth.
