Celebrating Black History Month – We Need You!

This Black History Month, we want to showcase and celebrate the voices of as many Black writers as possible, and we want to hear from you!

Call for submissions

How can you get involved?

If you are Black, and have any fiction, non-fiction or poetry to share with the world, please send them our way to celebrate this Black History Month. We welcome any pieces that discuss Black identities, celebrate diversity and black and intersectional characters, and also those which bring to light race issues and the Black Lives Matter movement. However, do not fret if you feel like your writing does not fall into these categories! We also just want to support and promote Black writers this month, so please still send your writing our way!

Please send your submissions to hello@foreverendeavour.uk with ‘BHM Submission’ in the subject line. Make sure you let us know if you would like your name published with your writing, or if you would prefer for it to be shared as anonymous, as well as any social media and blogs you have to share.

Is there a deadline?

The deadline for black history month submissions is Friday 18th October, however we encourage you to get your submissions over as soon as possible to ensure they can be published. We hope to get as many pieces up over the month as possible as they come in. If you are seeing this post after black history month is over, we publish writing all year round and would still love to hear from you! Please visit this page for more details.

We hope you will join us in celebrating Black History Month 2020, and we can’t wait to read and share your submissions! Don’t hesitate to leave any questions in the comments below.

  1. This sounds amazing and a great opportunity to share some of my work. I have been blogging for a little while and would love to share some of my posts and poems. Can I ask if there are restrictions on bad language?, only mine do contain a few! They can be adapted if needs be but I usually write for over 18’s.
